Edward Matovu studied art at the Margaret Trowel’s School of Industrial and Fine Arts where he received his degree in Fine Art in 2005. He began his career as a designer at Lynx Graphics, Visual Effects and Watoto, where he worked as a Graphic Designer/Creative Director.
Edward is a multi-faceted designer whose work encompasses both print and digital platforms. He blends an understanding of illustration, graphic design and typography to come up with clear visual concepts. His projects have included the design of brand identities, publications, packaging, environments, exhibitions, conferences, websites and user interfaces.
He has worked for both local and regional clients including City Oil, Uganda Batteries, Century
Bottling Company, Afriart Gallery, The ServiceMag, InspireRwanda, Intraline Shipping & Logistics,
Federal Motorsport of Uganda, The Cellar, Clarity Communications, NARE Advocates, Uganda
Council for Science and Technology, Borderless Travel and Great Lakes Safaris. He has served clients within Uganda and beyond; including Rwanda, Kenya, Congo Brazaville, South Sudan, South Africa, Australia and Canada. With close to fifteen years of experience, Edward is a creative consultant. He has facilitated in creative workshops for creative teams. He is a director in DigitalBlend - a local advertising agency. He is also a visiting critic at the Artfield Institute of Design where he also taught Digital Illustration and Design Essentials.
He is married to Faith Matovu and with their two children, make their home in Kampala.
